Below are the more commonly asked questions and the answers we give relating to Concertino:
CONCERTINO
What is Concertino?
Concertino is an integrated acoustic system for private homes, live venues and recording studios that optimizes spaces for live reproduction and capture of music. Concertino transforms the natural acoustics of a room to replicate the signature sound of a concert hall, a cathedral, a jazz club or any
other type of music venue.
So how does Concertino work?
Concertino consists of a number of microphones that sample the sound of the performers, the natural room response and even the audience members. The proprietary Concertino hardware and software processes these sounds in real time to add the presence, liveness and low-frequency warmth so critical to any fine concert space. The processed sound is sent to a multitude of loudspeakers and other unique audio delivery devices hidden throughout the walls and ceiling to instantaneously combine with the direct source and produce the ultimate "concert" sound.
How does this differ from the environmental presets on my AV receiver?
These types of presets take a pre-recorded audio source from a CD or DVD, process the entire finished production through someone's idea of what a concert hall, arena, etc. should sound like, and then play it back through two point source speakers. The result is very unnatural and "gimmicky".
Concertino differs vastly from this in that it creates a virtual room environment in which to enhance everything from acoustic instruments like a flute or cello to a guitarist playing through his/her favorite amp . Every aspect of the acoustic environment is completely controllable. This environment not only affects the performers, but also the audience (applauding, coughing, etc.) - just like in a real concert hall!
Who can benefit by installing Concertino in their home?
Just some of the potential owners include:
- Professional or amateur musicians who always wanted to have their own "private concert hall" in which to rehearse and perform.
- People with children who are learning to play an instrument or sing, and wish to give them every advantage in their musical development.
- Homeowners who frequently entertain in their home and would like to give their guests an unbelievable musical experience.
What type of commercial venues can benefit from integrating Concertino?
Just some of the potential commercial venues may include:
- Recording studios, especially those that focus on acoustic music.
- Restaurants and nightclubs who host a wide variety of performers and want complete control over their venue's acoustics for each show's needs.
- Small recital and black-box theater spaces that want the ultimate flexibility in the natural acoustic sound of their performances.
Is Concertino just for live music?
Not at all. It can be used very effectively to enhance the listening space for two-channel audio so that you don?t feel like you are sitting in an "acoustic vacuum". It can also be used for speech presentations, such as poetry readings, dramatic plays, even business meetings and presentations. Concertino has also been used throughout the USA and internationally to create exceptional "live" recordings of soloists and ensembles in a studio setting.
